Engaging Men and Boys for Gender Equality: Recommendations for the Media

This short document outlines recommended actions that The Media should undertake in relation to working strategically with men and boys for gender equality and the potential value that such strategies and intervention could have. In particular it focuses on these areas:

  • Undertaking auditing for gender inequality and gender stereotypes and taking action to remedy
  • Engaging and collaborating with others working in order to reframe and transform masculinity in the media
  • Developing self-regulation mechanisms
  • Becoming champions for gender-equitable forms of masculinity and gender equality in general
