This online course, taught by Cristina Bicchieri, S. J. Patterson Harvie Professor of Social Thought and Comparative Ethics, concerns social norms, the rules that glue societies together, including gender norms. It teaches how to diagnose social norms, and how to distinguish them from other social constructs, like customs or conventions. The course costs around $50, although it is free to access if you do not wish to earn the certificate. The course consists of 4 weeks of study, at around 2-3 hours/week, but you have 180 days from purchase in which to complete the course at times convenient to you.
